Dr. Boehrer is an interventional cardiologist at Medical City Dallas. He has an interest in heart failure and participates in the heart transplant program at Medical City Dallas, as well as the LVAD (left ventricular assist device) program. He also practices at The Heart Hospital at Baylor Plano.
He completed his undergraduate studies at Northwestern University where he graduated summa cum laude. He attended medical school at the University of Chicago (Pritzer School of Medicine).
He completed his Internal Medicine Residency and a Fellowship in cardiology at the UT Southwestern Medical Center in Dallas. He did a subsequent fellowship in interventional cardiology (angioplasty and stents) at The Cleveland Clinic Foundation. Dr. Boehrer has been in private practice since 1994 and in 2000 founded Dallas Cardiac Associates.
Dr. Boehrer is board certified in general and interventional cardiology and is part of the advanced heart failure program at Medical City Dallas which offers heart transplantation and left ventricular assist device both as a bridge to transplant and as destination therapy.
Dr. Boehrer is an active member of the Dallas County Medical Society and Texas Medical Association. He has been named in D Magazine’s Best Doctors in Dallas for the past consecutive 13 years and named a Texas Super Doctor by Texas Monthly Magazine.
He is married to Dr. Robyn Horsager, who is a Professor of Ob-Gyn at UT Southwestern Medical School in maternal fetal medicine. They have identical twin daughters who have recently graduated from Cornell University. He enjoys traveling, skiing and hiking. Recently he has been climbing Colorado “14ers.”
